Do you wonder how cavities develop in your teeth? Have you ever thought about what fire is? Do you want to understand why the periodic table of the elements is an astonishing compression of human scientific knowledge? Or – do you have to take chemistry because that’s what teenagers do? These are all great reasons to sign up for this class. We’ll introduce the elements, ions, charge, various types of reactions, the discovery/creation of the periodic table, the transfer of energy, electricity, and other topics. In-class meetings will feature conversations and hand-on activities, and at-home work will include reading, answering questions, and researching.
