How far will you travel in an hour if you are walking, swimming, driving, or sleeping? That’s algebra. What shape shows the quickest way to fly to Copenhagen? That’s geometry – and the answer is not a straight line! How do you measure the height of a tall building while standing at ground level? Using trigonometry, the study of triangles. We’ll introduce and practice major topics (simultaneous equations, 2-D and 3-D figures, trigonometric functions) and explore not only through reading and exercises but through hands-on activities as well. Cardboard and string enthusiasts – this class is for you!
